School Committee 5/9 Meeting Summary

The Sanford School Committee met May 9, 2022. Jen Davie was absent; all other members were present. There were no public comments. Committee Reports Construction: Superintendent of Schools Matt Nelson reported that discussions are continuing to close out the SHS/SRTC construction project. Good News From Sanford Schools: May 11, 2022

Sanford High School "Decision Day" at SHS was on Friday, May 6, 2022. Seniors could announce their decision for after graduation and pose for photos. Cultural Celebration Held at Sanford Pride Elementary

by SPE Staff In April, students at Sanford Pride Elementary School celebrated an appreciation and awareness of the different cultures in our school, community and nation. The students and staff have been working on integrated projects since the end of February. All projects are linked to curriculum topics. The Kindergarten classrooms focused on Maine History. Press Release On May 3rd, the Sanford Regional Technical Center hosted its National Technical Honor Society induction ceremony to welcome 62 new members. SRTC provides technical education to juniors and seniors from 8 area high schools in York County. The newest members come from a range of the 21 programs at the center.
