Dispatchers and Sheriff’s Dept. Staffers Team Up to Help Out

Roger McGrath was hopeful. The 82-year-old Hiram resident saw an article in his local weekly paper about money that had been found. The article asked whoever might have lost the money to call the York County Sheriff’s office in Alfred. Mr. McGrath had been collecting bottles and cans by the roadside all last year, in hopes of surprising his wife with a new refrigerator to replace their aging one. Friday, March 12, Sanford Police responding to a domestic disturbance at 7:00 a.m. on Ledgewood Ave. arrested a 36-year-old North Berwick resident for domestic violence aggravated assault and violating condition of release. The following day, our officers had five domestic disturbance calls, one of which, to a Main St. address, resulted in the arrest of a 36-year-old Lebanon resident on charges of domestic violence assault, criminal mischief and assault. On Friday, March 5, Sanford Police were called to High St. to assist another agency. A 32-year-old Sanford resident was arrested on a warrant. Saturday, March 6, after a call to Shaw St. for a domestic disturbance, officers arrested a 37-year-old Sanford resident on multiple charges, including domestic violence assault with a prior, violating condition of release, and unlawful possession of a scheduled drug, as well as an outstanding warrant.
