Sanford Soccer has been having some issues with people driving onto their chained-off parking area on Shaw’s Ridge Rd. and doing damage to the lot. York County Shelter Programs gave thanks this week to Grayson Perro, a 12-year-old seventh grader at Sanford Middle School, who once again provided a generous donation of holiday gifts for YCAP’s residents. Grayson’s mom Jessica says that he has been giving to others since he was four years old. As he got older, he created fundraisers - this was his third year operating a hot cocoa stand in order to raise money for his YCSP donations. He created online auctions…

A multi-family home at 46 Elm St. in Sanford was severely damaged by fire late Tuesday night, but no injuries were reported. 11-year-old Matthew Perkins smelled the smoke even before smoke detectors went off, and quickly alerted his family. The property has been condemned, but the residents have all found new apartments through the building owner, White Bark Properties, which owns many multi-families in southern Maine. Toy Distribution: The weather this weekend didn’t stop the hardworking elves from Toys for Tots of Southern York County. The annual toy distribution was held at Curtis Lake Church thanks to the many volunteers and many generous donors. Scouts USA Troop 327 is doing its second annual Christmas Tree Pickup Fundraiser.
