Fires On Monday, August 9, Sanford firefighters responded to a car fire on Wilson St. and found smoldering engine components. There were no injuries or other damage. Emergency Medical Services There were 47 calls for EMS services. What is the Difference Between an EMT and a Paramedic?

All of the Sanford Fire Department's firefighters are also Emergency Medical Technicians. But some have additional training that qualify them as paramedics. There were no fires this week. Other incidents: On Sunday, July 18, a faulty electrical appliance on Shawmut Ave. caused excessive heat and scorching, but fortunately, it did not ignite. Fires: On July 13, Engine 5 responded to an unattended brush fire on Lefrancois Ln. The blaze covered about 100 square feet and was quickly brought under control.
