Sanford Residents Can Sign Up Now for Curbside Composting

The Garbage to Garden curbside composting service first proposed expanding to Sanford back in 2021, and is finally ready to kick off. Starting the first week of April, residents who choose to participate will receive a 5-gallon bucket to fill with food scraps and other compostable materials. Garbage to Garden will pick up the filled bucket at the curb each week, and leave a clean bucket in its place. Additionally, participants are able to receive a bag of compost each…

School Department Proposes 4% Increase

At its meeting on February 27, 2023 Sanford School Committee approved what Superintendent of Schools Matt Nelson described as “a bare bones budget” for fiscal year 2023/24, which will be presented to the City Council on March 7.
