Council Reviewing Charter Recommendations

At its meeting July 19, 2022, members of the City Council started working through the amendments to the City’s Charter which were proposed by the Charter Review Committee last month. They began with a lengthy discussion on the proposed change to clean up the old language that required voter approval of the municipal budget. City Considering Move to a 4-Day Workweek

At the City Council's Municipal Operations and Property Subcommittee meeting on July 12, 2022, City Manager Steve Buck presented a pilot proposal to switch Sanford City employees to a four-day workweek in an effort to attract and retain staff. Under the proposal developed by the Human Resources Department, City Hall would be open Monday through Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The current schedule is Monday-Friday 8:00 to 4:30.
