Arrests & Summonses: September 1-15, 2022

Thursday, September 1: A 50-year-old Springvale resident was summonsed for violation of a protection from harassment order, following a call to Myers Ln. A motor vehicle stop at High St. and Calvins Way resulted in an 39-year-old resident of Rochester, NH, being taken into custody as a fugitive from justice, with an additional charge of operating without a license. A 46-year-old Sanford resident was arrested after a motor vehicle stop at School and Lenox Sts., and charged with operating after suspension with a prior OUI.

Friday, September 2: A shoplifting call on Main St. led to a 36-year-old resident of Wakefield, NH, being summonsed for theft. A 16-year-old juvenile was summonsed for driving to endanger following a motor vehicle complaint on Cyro Rd.

Sunday, September 4: A report of shoplifting on Main St. resulted in a 32-year-old Sanford resident being summonsed for theft and violating condition of release. Sanford officers responding to a disturbance on Twombley Rd. summonsed an 18-year-old Sanford resident and a 21-year-old Lebanon resident. Both were charged with assault. Two ambulances responded as well.

Monday, September 5: Officers were called to an assault in progress on Main St., where a 66-year-old resident of Rochester, NH, was summonsed for the crime. A 23-year-old Springvale resident was summonsed for failure to register a motor vehicle more than 150 days following a motor vehicle stop at Main St. and Farview Dr.

Tuesday, September 6: A 43-year-old Parsonsfield resident was summonsed for operating after suspension following a motor vehicle stop at River and Brook Sts.

Thursday, September 8: A motor vehicle stop on Main St. led to a 33-year-old Sanford resident being summonsed for operating without a license. A 13-year-old juvenile was summonsed for theft following a call to St. Ignatius St.

Friday, September 9: A 37-year-old Sanford resident was summonsed for theft after a shoplifting call on Main St. A motor vehicle stop on Country Club Rd. led to a 28-year-old Sanford resident being summonsed for operating without a license. A vehicle crash at New Dam and Alfred Rds. resulted in an 18-year-old resident of Billerica, MA, being summonsed for driving to endanger. Sanford Fire and EMS also responded.

Saturday, September 10: A 29-year-old Cornish resident was arrested for operating under the influence with a prior, following a motor vehicle accident on Downs St.

Tuesday, September 13: A motor vehicle stop at Winslow and Main Sts. led to a 61-year-old Shapleigh resident being summonsed for operating after suspension.

Wednesday, September 14: A 24-year-old resident of Haverhill, MA, was taken into custody on charges of refusing to submit to arrest or detention and refusing to stop, following a domestic disturbance on West St. A summons was issued on June St. for an assault, no details given.

Thursday, September 15: Sanford Police responding to a domestic disturbance on Breary Ave. arrested a 29-year-old Sanford resident for domestic violence aggravated assault with extreme indifference. Officers called to a burglary in progress on Emery St. took a 20-year-old North Berwick resident into custody for theft and criminal trespass. A motor vehicle complaint on Main St. resulted in a 20-year-old Sanford resident being summonsed for illegal possession of liquor by a minor. A 49-year-old Sanford resident was arrested for unlawful possession of a scheduled drug following a motor vehicle stop at Emery and Main Sts.

In addition to the above, there were 23 other motor vehicle summonses issued during the period.
