Arrests & Summonses: March 26-April 1

On Friday, March 26, Sanford Police arrested two suspects after a shoplifting call on Main St. A 42-year-old Sanford resident was charged with theft by unauthorized taking or transfer and violating conditions of release. A 22-year-old resident of Shapleigh was charged with theft by unauthorized taking or transfer, failing to stop for an officer, driving to endanger and leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident.

Later that evening, after a motor vehicle stop on Main St., a 45-year-old Sand Pond Rd. resident was summonsed for failure to register a vehicle after more than 150 days And just before midnight, officers responding to a domestic disturbance arrested a 31-year-old Emery St. resident for domestic violence assault and endangering the welfare of a child.

Saturday, March 27, was another extremely busy day for the Department. A 23-year-old Lyman resident was arrested for operating under the influence after a motor vehicle stop on Main St. There were four motor vehicle accidents that day, plus four calls for emotionally disturbed persons, two drug incidents and much more.

The next day was a bit quieter, with no arrests or summonses.

On Monday, March 29, our officers arrested a 40-year-old Spruce St. resident on an outstanding warrant.

Responding to a Tuesday evening disturbance call at a High St. address, Sanford Police took a 21-year-old resident of Erie, PA, into custody as a fugitive from justice, with an outstanding warrant.

Wednesday the 31st, a 30-year-old High St. resident was summonsed for a past assault.

On Thursday, April 1, while assisting another police agency on High St., Sanford officers summonsed a 29-year-old Lavin Ct. resident for refusing to submit to arrest or detention. Sanford Fire Department and EMS personnel also responded to that call.
