New Book Recommendations:

Adult: Pug Actually by Matt Dunn. This new hilarious fiction novel gives a whole new take on relationships – as seen through the eyes of a wise pug named Doug. Doug is determined to fix his owner Julie’s failing love life, as she is currently seeing her married boss Luke who treats her poorly. Doug would much rather see Julie with newly divorced Tom, and gets into some furry, funny antics to make that happen. This book is a little off-the-beaten-path, but has a lot of heart, and is a new favorite among a lot of our staff.

Children’s: Monster Friends by Kaeti Vandorn. This fun new addition to our graphic novel section chronicles the unlikely friendship between two adorable monsters – Reggie (who is grouchy) and Emily (who is curious). They have big plans for their summer, but must learn to work together and overcome personal challenges to make their dreams become reality. Kids will appreciate the watercolor-style drawings and unique characters, and parents are sure to enjoy the positive themes and lengthier story.
