Mee-D Thai Restaurant has moved to a spacious new location within the Mid Town Mall. Their new address is 886 Main St., Suite 201 (next door to Tropical Caribbean). Hours are Monday through Saturday, 11:00 to 9:00, and Sunday 4:00 to 9:00. Dine in or take out, delivery available. They also do catering. You can order online at mee-dsanford.com.

Sunday, September 12 is Maine Apple Sunday. Join McDougal Orchards for a Sunset Birthday Picnic in their back orchard from 5:00 to 7:00 to celebrate their oldest trees turning 90 years old. There will be apple picking, wagon rides, lawn games, music, and free cider and donuts (until they run out). Bring dinner and your best picnic blanket. Baker Bobby’s Pizzaiolo Food Truck will be in the orchard serving fresh pizza, too, if you don’t have time to pack a picnic dinner!

New England Hydroponics is opening a new grow and gardening supply super store soon in the Sanford Plaza (a/k/a Marden’s Plaza). The 13,500 square foot retail space will be the retailer’s fifth store in New England and first in Maine.  Opening to the public is planned for late September. The store will serve hobbyists, commercial growers and agribusinesses in Maine with a vast selection of the industry’s leading plant nutrients, supplements, soils and organics. In addition, it will offer a full selection of grow lights, grow tents, propagation supplies, tools, hydroponics systems and gardening gear. 

Down East magazine made the Bauneg Beg region the main focus of a recent story on weekend getaways. Sanford businesses Huttopia, Frannie’s Mini Donuts and Pilot’s Cove Café were featured in the article, which you can read here.

Custom 420 Supply specializes in packaging for the cannabis industry. Their new store in South Sanford, in the space formerly occupied by Sanford Sound, is undergoing renovations before opening.

Tropical Caribbean in the Mid Town Mall is now offering hot take-out meals of traditional Jamaican cuisine.

Burger Budz Burgers and Spuds has a sign up in the location formerly occupied by The Chilean restaurant in the Center For Shopping. No details yet as to when they will be opening.
