Fire Department Log June 13-19

Fire Department Log June 13-19

On Friday, June 18, The Sanford Fire Department dealt with a brush fire at Pinnacle Health & Rehab on Main St. Engines 4 and 5 were both on the scene. That same day, firefighters responded to Acton for mutual aid with a structure fire, but the call was cancelled as they neared the staging area, as the Acton Fire Department had it under control by that time.

Also on Friday, firefighters rescued a person trapped in an elevator at the Goodall medical complex on June St. Engine 1 responded to Payne St. to deal with some arcing electrical equipment.

As usual, the bulk of the Department’s calls during the week were for rescue and emergency services, a total of 54 incidents, including one motor vehicle accident with injuries. They also responded to one motor vehicle accident without injuries, and assisted invalids twice.

Two calls were for unintentional fire alarm activation, and another for unintentional smoke detector activation. Another smoke detector activation was due to a malfunction. The Department also responded to one call where no incident was found on arrival.
