Randy and Brad (pictured above) will be the performers at the first of two free Concerts in the Park this summer! Gateway Park, 50 Washington St., will host the duo from 6:30-7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 22. Feel free to pack a picnic dinner. Bring a lawn chair for you and a blanket for the kiddos. The second Concert in the Park on June 29 will feature North River Band.

Sanford has a new doctor! This week Southern Maine Health Care welcomed Eric Eisenberg, MD, to SMHC’s Primary Care practice in the Goodall Medical Office Building at 25A June St. Dr. Eisenberg was most recently an Internal Medicine Physician at Skyhaven Internal Medicine in Rochester, NH. He completed his residency at University of Colorado Health Sciences Center and a Fellowship in Nephrology at Boston Medical Center. He is also a graduate of Rutgers College. Dr. Eisenberg completed his medical degree at New York University School of Medicine. His clinical interests are hypertension, depression, and heart disease. “My greatest interest is in assisting patients in managing chronic medical conditions, over time,” said Dr. Eisenberg. “Whether we are talking about hypertension, heart disease, diabetes, or depression, all conditions evolve over our lifetime. It is rewarding to provide for patients on the spectrum of disease and to aid with navigating today’s complex healthcare systems.” Dr. Eisenberg is accepting new patients. This week the York County Commissioners held the first of two public hearings to solicit feedback and thoughts on the uses for funding allocated to York County Government under the American Rescue Plan Act. The second public hearing will be held June 23 beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the Sanford Vaccination Center, 1364 Main St.

Each Tuesday Congdon’s After Dark hosts a fundraiser for a community organization, which receives 10% of each food trucks’ sales for the evening. On June 22 they will host the Sanford High School Music Boosters. The Boosters have been supporting music in the Sanford community since 1995, including feeder programs from the junior high & middle schools, winter drumline, and winter guard. They also assist the SHS drama program and Performing Arts Center. Come on down to 1100 Post Rd. in Wells beginning at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday to eat for a good cause.

The Sanford Parks Department will be performing curb side vegetation control on Friday, June 18, starting at 10:00 p.m. and ending at 7:00 a.m. Saturday, June 19. Treatment will be applied on the following roads throughout Sanford and Springvale: Main St., Emery St., School St., Washington St., High St., River St., Winter St., Cottage St., Lebanon St., Pleasant St., Oak St., Mill St., Mid-Town Mall, and William Oscar Emery Dr. The products being applied are X-Out, EPA Reg. 42750-258-89442 and Prodiamine 4SC select EPA Reg. 89442-26. There will be a special meeting of the Sanford City Council on Tuesday, June 22 at 6:00 p.m. via Zoom, to discuss and vote on the municipal budget. We will post a link to the agenda (with Zoom link) as soon as it’s available.

The Sanford Planning Board met via Zoom at its usual time on Wednesday, June 16, but was unable to conduct business as not enough members were in attendance to make a quorum.
