Police Log Highlights: April 8-15

On Thursday, April 8, Sanford Police made three arrests. A 20-year-old Main St. resident was taken into custody on a warrant after a violation of protective order call. A 49-year-old resident of Old Orchard Beach was also arrested on a warrant after a disturbance call to Weeman St. in Springvale. A motor vehicle stop in Springvale resulted in a 61-year old Witham St. resident being charged with operating after habitual offender revocation, violating condition of release, and failing to stop for an officer.

There were no arrests on Friday, April 9, but officers had their hands full as usual. Among the calls were six animal complaints. One of them, to a Main St. address, resulted in a warning being issued. They also assisted Sanford Fire & EMS with two medical emergencies.

Saturday, April 10, a 26-year-old resident of Center Ossipee, NH, was arrested on a warrant after a domestic disturbance call to Gerrish Dr. Sanford Police also dealt with four motor vehicle accidents that day, three of which occurred within a half hour of each other. Sanford Fire & EMS responded to three of those accidents as well, and the Police Department in turn assisted them with three additional medical emergencies.

The following day, a 31-year-old Bennett St. resident was summonsed for operating without a license after a motor vehicle accident on Beaver Hill Rd. in Springvale.

Monday, April 12 was another busy day for the Department. The calls included multiple disturbance and domestic disturbance reports, seven more animal complaints, and three reports of larceny/forgery/fraud.

On Tuesday the 13th, a domestic disturbance resulted in the arrest of a 32-year-old Gerrish Dr. resident. Sanford Police also assisted another agency to a Main St. address where an arrest was made. Among other calls that day were two more domestic disturbances, two burglaries of a motor vehicle, a report of graffiti on Grammar St., and a sex offender registration.

A disturbance call on Wednesday evening led to a 29-year-old Bodwell St. resident being summonsed for assault. Immediately after that call, an accident at the intersection of High and River Sts. resulted in a 63-year-old Shapleigh resident being arrested on charges of operating under the influence and violating condition of release.

Thursday, April 15, a report of a past assault led to the summons of a 30-year-old High St. resident. A motor vehicle complaint on Main St. in Springvale resulted in the arrest of a 31-year-old Acton resident for operating under the influence.
