Congratulations to the Sanford Elks Lodge #1470 on winning the 2021 Ritual championship for the state of Maine. Team members were judged on how well they memorized and delivered their lines, and how well they performed the Elks initiation ritual, which is used when new members join the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks.
Team members from left to right are Christine Cote, Marise Anagnost, Sheri Frechette, Sheila Pillsbury, Dawna Legere, Brigitte Morrison, Robert Shaw and Bruce Brunelle. Not pictured but very important are this year’s ritual coaches, Frank Ricker and Andrew Bolz.
The competition was held right here in Sanford on February 28. The team is slated to next compete at the National Elks Convention in Tampa, FL this summer.
