Kennebunk Savings and Bombas have teamed up to donate 500 pairs of Bombas socks to York County Community Action to distribute to those in need. “We’re grateful for this unexpected donation from Kennebunk Savings,” said YCCAC Executive Director, Barbara Crider. “Warm clothing in winter is vital to maintaining good health. A pair of warm, clean, dry socks protects the same as a winter coat or earmuffs or gloves. The donated socks will be given out at each of our main office sites—Biddeford, Sanford and Kittery.”
The Sanford Community Garden is accepting applications for the 2021 growing season. A few 4-ft by 12-ft beds are available for those who would like to raise their own vegetables, herbs or flowers. There is no fee for a bed and all gardening materials and tools are supplied. Each gardener must volunteer six hours of their time caring for the food pantry beds over the course of the season. To reserve a bed visit mousamwaylandtrust.org by Wednesday April 15. Don’t let a lack of sunny yard space prevent you from taking this important step toward self-sufficiency!
If your adjusted gross annual income is below $52,000, you qualify for free tax preparation service from York County Community Action’s CA$H program. Get more information at https://yccac.org/free-tax-preparation/.
