Eleanor M. Brown, 94, of Alfred, died peacefully on Dec. 2, 2024, at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough. She was born in Sanford on Dec. 28, 1929, to Harry and Clara (Quint) Johnson. She graduated from Northeastern Business College in Portland and began working at the York County Courthouse in Alfred. She was a secretary at the Willard School from 1977 until she retired in 1993. Eleanor is survived by her husband of 74 years, Robert, her son Alan J. Brown of Sanford, and sister Marilyn Clark of Norway. She is also survived by two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Eleanor was preceded in death by her son Gary in 1979 and brother Robert Johnson. Visitation will be from 2-4 pm on Wednesday, Dec. 18, at Bibber Memorial at Autumn Green in Alfred. Burial of the cremated remains will be held in the spring at Oakdale Cemetery in Sanford.

Marion Gail Masse, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at Huntington Commons in Kennebunk on Dec. 3, at the age of 86. Marion was born on Jan. 12, 1938, in Woonsocket, RI. Her life was filled with love and dedication. Her journeys through life took her to various places, but it was alongside her cherished husband, Donald Masse, that she found her greatest joy and stability. They shared a partnership before eventually settling in Sanford in 1970. Marion had a lifelong love of music that was nourished by her father and which she shared with her children. A talented seamstress, Marion crafted not only beautiful garments but also a warm and loving home for her family. She co-owned music, video and variety stores with Donald and their business endeavors were a testament to their teamwork and mutual respect. She will be remembered for her gentle nature and her ability to find beauty in the simple things. Marion is predeceased by her husband Donald and survived by her children Michael (Rebecca) Masse, Laurie (Dave) Woodward and James (Renee) Masse and six grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. The service will be private.

Mary Quirion, 81, of Sanford, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2024, at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough. She was born on May 27, 1943, in Melrose, MA, to Joseph and Helen Finn. She grew up in Melrose and in Goose Rocks. After high school, Mary moved permanently to Maine. She had four children, Deborah A. Conte, Roy W. Danis, Michael E. Danis, and James R. Danis. Mary was a long-term employee of Meals on Wheels of Southern Maine. She enjoyed going on cruises and was a devout Catholic and had been a communicant of St. Thérèse of Lisieux Parish in Sanford. Mary was predeceased by her husband, Roger Quirion, and by her son-in-law, Raymond Martineau. Surviving are her children Deborah A. Conte, Roy W. (Nancy) Danis, Michael E. Danis, and James R. (Elizabeth) Danis; her adopted daughter, Cecile Martineau, and her stepdaughter, Connie Helstowski and her husband Stanley and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Friday, Dec. 6 at the St. Thérèse of Lisieux Parish, Holy Family Church. Interment followed at the Southern Maine Veterans Cemetery.
