Several Sanford organizations are working to gather items for the Thanksgiving season. Partners Bank is collecting non-perishable items and cash donations for their food drive at their Springvale, Sanford and South Sanford locations through Nov. 25 to benefit the York County Shelter Programs Food Pantry. Sanford High School Peer Helper Thanksgiving Food Drive has collection boxes in the high school’s main lobby through Nov. 22 with the goal of 50 SHS families receiving a Thanksgiving basket. Ted’s Fried Clams and Rockhouse Ice Cream is having a Thanksgiving food drive during the month of November. Bring in a non-perishable item for the local food pantry and get 10% off your bill. The Y Trafton Senior Center on Elm Street is accepting donations for their food drive through Nov. 30th. YCSP Food Pantry in Alfred also accepts food donations. Look for local businesses and churches that have food collection boxes for donations, too.
