Cory M. Maddox, 44, of East Waterboro, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, September 23, 2024. He was born on March 13, 1980, in Sanford to Richard and Debra (Morin) Maddox. Cory grew up in Sanford and attended local schools, graduating from Sanford High School. His dedication and work ethic earned him the respect of his colleagues, but it was his commitment to his family that truly defined him. Cory married the love of his life, Yue Song in 2016. Together, they built a life filled with love, joy, and adventure, and his dream of having a family came true with the arrival of their two children Olivia and Kai. One friend commented, “Cory was known to be the definition of a “good guy.” I believed he was a great man, father, husband and most of all to the “guys,” a best friend.” A passionate sports fan, Cory especially loved North Carolina basketball and could often be found rooting for his favorite team. His dedication to Yue and their children was unwavering, and his love for them was evident in everything he did. Cory was predeceased by his grandparents, and he will be deeply missed by his wife, Yue Song of East Waterboro, their beloved children, his parents, Richard and Debra Maddox of Sanford, his grandmother Kay Maddox of Springvale, his brother Jeremy (Kelly) Maddox, of Sanford, and a large extended family. Visiting hours and a service were held on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at the Carll-Heald Black Funeral Home. Dr. John L. Paré’s siblings announced his passing on September 8, 2024, at the age of 61. He was a graduate of Sanford High School and earned a degree of Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the University of New England in Biddeford in 1994. He was predeceased by his loving parents, Laval and Theresa Paré. He is survived by his nine siblings, twelve nieces and nephews and eleven grandnieces and nephews. Dr. Paré, a highly respected family medicine physician, was practicing at Beebe Healthcare in Melville, Delaware specializing in Geriatric care. Prior to this, he was a Family Health Care Physician in Manassas, VA. He will be forever remembered for his unique sense of humor, quick wit and a ready joke. Through this gift, he was able to comfort, understand and “be there” for all he knew. In the words of Dr. Paré himself “Laughter – I prescribe it daily.” He will be forever remembered as a loving, special brother and for the example he set as a dedicated, knowledgeable and compassionate physician who delivered high quality medical care. Dr. Paré leaves behind a legacy of love, service and happiness that will live on in the hearts of everyone who knew him. In the spirit of his compassionate and joyous life, let us celebrate him with gratitude alongside our tears. A memorial service on November 2, 2024 is being planned to celebrate and remember his life and contribution to the medical community.
