Covid-19 Update: November 29

On Wednesday, November 25, Superintendent of Schools Matt Nelson announced cases of Covid-19 had been diagnosed in individuals associated with Sanford High School, Sanford Middle School, Carl J. Lamb School, Margaret Chase Smith School and Sanford Regional Technical Center. No additional school closings have been announced.

The outbreak at the Newton Center, which Maine CDC began tracking last week, was 12 cases as of Monday, including 7 patients and 5 staff members.

Maine CDC is reporting a cumulative total of 267 cases of Covid-19 in our community, with 202 in Sanford and 65 in Springvale. This includes data as of November 22. This represents an increase of 22 cases since last week’s update.

As of November 28, there are 453 active cases in York County.
