Bernice “Betty” Hachey, 92, of Springvale, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, July 5. Betty was born on Nov. 17, 1931, to Harold and Edith (Littlefield) Day, at home in Springvale. She grew up in Springvale and attended local schools. After high school, Betty was employed at Raymond’s Store. She married her childhood neighbor Raymond Hachey, with whom she shared 52 years of marriage until Raymond’s passing in 2004. She was a meticulous homemaker, taking great pride in caring for her family and creating a warm, welcoming home. She took delight in tending to her flower gardens and sewing for her daughters. Betty and Raymond cherished their time wintering in Myrtle Beach, FL, for several years. She is predeceased by her parents, her beloved husband Raymond Hachey, and all of her 10 siblings, making her the last surviving member of her immediate family. Betty is survived by her two daughters, Donna (Herbert) Crowell of Springvale, and Melissa (Jack) Baker of Sanford. She leaves behind four cherished grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and a large extended family. Betty’s legacy of love, dedication, and quiet strength will be remembered by all who knew her. A time of visitation was to be held on Friday, July 12 at 10 am, with a service at noon at Carll-Heald and Black Funeral Home. June E. Mitchell, 86, of Sanford, died Saturday, July 6. She was born in Washington, D.C. on June 2, 1938, the daughter of Raymond and Elizabeth (Heath) Small. She was a graduate of Fairfax High School, Fairfax County, VA. For many years, she was employed by the Chesapeake and Potomac Telephone Co. in Virginia, Washington D.C. and Maryland. June and her husband, Stephen S. Gerth, Jr., moved to Maine to enjoy retirement. Stephen died in 2014. June enjoyed reading, mostly history and mystery but read all sorts of topics. She also enjoyed genealogy, buttons, antiques and flower gardening. She was also predeceased by her son, John R. Thompson. Surviving, along with her daughter, Karen E. Burke of Winchester, Virginia are two grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren and a longtime friend, Gary B. Roberts of the New England Historical Genealogical Society. A funeral service will be held at the Carll-Heald and Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale on Thursday, Aug. 8, at 11 am. Relatives and friends may visit from 10 am until service time. Betty Louise Mullins, 85, of Kalispell, MT, passed away on Monday, July 1, in Kalispell. Betty was born on July 29, 1938, to Louis Alineri and Virginia Smith in Park Ridge, NJ. She met Robert “Bob” Kenneth Mullins through family and friends in Sanford. Betty and Bob fell deeply in love, and they married in the summer of 1971. Betty had three children: Gregory, Patricia and Christine. Bob had a son, Robert Jr. They combined their families and had two more children, Kelly and Charles, settling down in a small farmhouse in Acton. They moved from Maine to Florida in 1980 and continued to explore and watch the family grow, until Bob passed away unexpectedly in March 1999. After losing the love of her life, Betty moved to Kalispell, where she lived next to her daughter Patricia until her final day, when she rejoined her greatest love, Bob, so they could continue adventures together into heaven and beyond. Judith A. DesRoberts, 70, of Sanford, peacefully departed this life on Tuesday, July 2, at Maine Medical Center in Portland. She was born on January 18, 1954, in Sanford to Arthur and Peggy (Davey) Roy. She was educated in local Catholic schools and graduated from Sanford High School, class of 1972. Judith married Michael DesRoberts in 1973 and together they shared 50 years of marriage, raising two wonderful children. As a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, she took immense pride in nurturing and caring for her loved ones. During her working life, Judith held several retail and customer service positions within the Sanford area. However, it was her passion for travel that brought her the greatest joy, particularly her trips to Disney World and an unforgettable journey to Alaska. Judith’s kindness, warmth, and gentle spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Preceding her in death were her parents, her son, James DesRoberts, and her sister, Jane Guay. She leaves behind her devoted husband, Michael of Sanford; her son, Brian (Kimberly) DesRoberts of Sanford, and Kelly DesRoberts and her life partner, Lefty Andrews of Sanford and her three grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Arthur (Gerry) of Sanford; and a large extended family with many friends. Judith’s wishes were that her arrangements would be private.
