School Department’s Dennis Wilson Honored with First Pitch at Mainers Game
Dennis Wilson, the Sanford School Department’s Technology Support Specialist, had the honor of throwing out the first pitch before the Sanford Mainers game on Monday, June 17, at Goodall Park. The special moment was part of the team’s Education Week celebration.
The Mainers went on to beat the Danbury Westerners 3-0 behind a strong start from starting pitcher Ryan Minckler, who tossed five shutout innings while allowing one hit and striking out six. Christopher Willis went 3-for-5 with an RBI to lead the Mainers.
Babe Ruth League Alumni Scholarship Application Deadline Approaching
Sanford’s Babe Ruth League Alumni Scholarship application deadline is June 30.
The scholarship provides financial aid and is a significant steppingstone toward a player’s educational endeavors.
