Maine CDC is reporting a cumulative total of 172 cases of Covid-19 in Sanford and 50 in Springvale as of November 8, for a total of 222 cases in our community since the pandemic began. This is an increase of 5 cases since last week’s update. As of November 11, there are 304 active cases of Covid-19 in York County.
There have been no more positive cases identified in connection with Margaret Chase Smith School, since the one positive case was announced last week.
Free Rapid Antigen Testing for Covid-19 will be available at Walgreens throughout the state later this month, including the Sanford store. It will be a drive through, self-administered test, and results will be available within an hour. Rapid Antigen Tests can identify people who are at the peak of infection, when virus levels in the body are highest. Because they can spot those who are at greatest risk of spreading Covid-19, they are helpful in keeping the pandemic contained.

The deadline for the city to expend the Keep Maine Healthy grant money has been extended to December 11. The grant money pays for the Health Educators that follow up on complaints of violations of the mask ordinance, among other things.
