The Sanford School Department announced on November 5 that an individual associated with Margaret Chase Smith School recently tested positive for COVID-19. The current hybrid model of education helped limit any contact this individual had with others so very few staff and students were exposed. Those at risk have already been identified and contacted by a CDC or school representative and are quarantining. We will update tomorrow if any more positive test results are announced.
Maine CDC’s data as of November 1 shows a cumulative total of 168 cases of Covid-19 in Sanford, and 49 in Springvale, for a total of 217 cases in our community. This is an increase of 8 cases over the previous week’s update. There are currently 262 active cases in York County.
