Harland Eastman, a major contributor to the life of his beloved village of Springvale, died at his home on Feb. 29 at age 94. He was president of the Sanford-Springvale Historical Society and a driving force behind establishment of the Historical Museum. He had served on the Springvale Public Library board of directors since 1979. He will be greatly missed.
More information about him and his legacy will be forthcoming next week.
