Shooting Follows Confrontation Downtown

Police are investigating what led to a shooting in downtown Sanford just as the Holly Daze parade was about to start on Friday afternoon. According to a department press release, officers were called to the parking lot of the new T-Mobile store at the corner of Main and Lebanon streets a little before 4 pm on Dec. 1, 2023. The shooter is cooperating with detectives as they gather evidence and conduct interviews. The injured individual was listed in serious condition at Maine Medical Center in Portland as of Saturday afternoon.
