Sports Physicals for Sanford High School and Middle School Athletes 

Sanford Middle School and Sanford High School Athletes who need a physical will be able to receive one on Tuesday, August 8th, from 3-5 p.m. at Sanford High School in Room D105. 

Please use the Community Retail Center entrance near the greenhouse. The cost is $20. 

Checks can be made payable to York Hospital. Students must be accompanied by their parent/guardian or have the Limited Sports Exam form signed by their parent/guardian. (Click here for the Limited Sports Exam form.) 

All physicals are valid for two years from the date the physical was given.  


Sanford High School Athletes Make All-State Track and Field Teams 

Senior Kora Eckelman, and Junior Tucker Walker, have been named to the Outdoor Track and Field All-State team by the Maine Track and Cross-Country Coaches Association. 

Eckelman and Walker each won the discus at the Class A Championships at Mt. Ararat High School on June 3rd. Eckelman won with a throw of 116 feet, seven inches. Walker clinched his championship with a throw of 150 feet, six inches. 

Walker also placed fourth in the shot put (45-10 ¾ feet) at the Class A Championships before finishing ninth at the New England Championships in the discus a week later at Bangor High School (149-10 feet). Eckelman was 17th at New England’s in the discus (107-08 feet).

Sanford Mainers Recap 

Devan Bade’s bases-clearing double in the fifth inning propelled the Sanford Mainers to a 6-5 win over the North Shore Navigators at Goodall Park in Sanford on Monday, July 3rd. Nicholas Roselli added two hits for Sanford. 

Sanford won back-to-back games on Friday, June 30th, and Saturday, July 1st, over the Vermont Mountaineers, 8-3, and the Valley Blue Sox, 9-5. 

The Mainers fell to the Ocean State Waves, 5-1, on Wednesday, July 5th, and to the Newport Gulls, 6-2, on Thursday, June 29th. 

As of July 6th, the Mainers were in third place in the North Division of the NECBL with an 11-11 record.
