Sanford Community Adult Education celebrated Certified Nursing Assistant graduate Emma Gault with a “Pinning Ceremony” on Tuesday, January 17. Emma was part of the recent Hybrid CNA class that coordinates students from multiple adult education programs throughout the state so they can complete the classroom requirements of the CNA program via Zoom. Once the classroom portion is done, then the clinical portion is completed at a local facility. Emma chose her clinical instructor Lisa Benvento, RN and Director of Nursing from Pinnacle Clinical Health and Rehabilitation to have the honor of “pinning” her during the ceremony where several of her friends and family were in attendance.
Adam Duvall, who played for the Sanford Mainers in 2009, is headed to Boston, making him the first moose to put on a Red Sox uniform.
This week Sanford Water District has its first Board of Trustees meeting of 2023, which brings an exciting transition. After nearly 30 years of service on the board, Roger Durant is transitioning to the appointed role of treasurer after choosing not to run for re-election. In his place, the Board welcomes a new Trustee, Melissa Alipalo, who has been working as a sociologist and communications specialist in the water sector since 2005. Melissa has been working with the Board for a year in the appointed position of assistant treasurer.
The Knights of Columbus St. Thomas Council has selected the family of Patrick and Ericka Sanborn (pictured below) as family of the month for January 2023. Patrick and Ericka have been happily married for 14 years and are proud parents of their daughter Margaret.
