The Planning Board gave conditional approval to Sanford’s first adult-use marijuana retail store this week, which will be located at 22 Smada Dr. in South Sanford. Pine Tree Maine, which currently operates a growing and manufacturing facility at that location, will open the store in the space that has been occupied by their medical marijuana dispensary, Landrace Cannabis. The company also has adult-use stores in Hollis and Portland.
Maker’s Way Studio is throwing a party – a Christmas in July open house, to be more exact! Stop by on Friday night, July 29, from 6:00-9:00 p.m. for desserts and door prizes. On Saturday, July 30, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., stop by for their Ugly Sun Hat Contest and free ornament workshop.
Jen’s Delightful Sweets missed being in Springvale so much, they’re moving back! They are currently at work getting the space ready for their reopening. The wholesale and retail bakery moved to Waterboro last year.
After being vacant for quite some time, there’s new activity at the former 7-11 store at the intersection of Main, Winter and Lebanon Sts. Owner Ritz Enterprises, LLC, has been remodeling the interior. No word yet on what the new store will be.

Partners Bank President and CEO, Blaine Boudreau, has been appointed as Chair of the Maine Bankers Association for a one-year term. MBA member banks elected him to the position at the association’s 129th Annual Meeting in June. The MBA represents Maine’s banking industry and its 9,000 employees statewide.
