Axe Women Loggers of Maine will shine in Sanford/Springvale on Tuesday, June 28 at Holdsworth Park (Springvale Recreation area). These lumberjills put on an amazing show! Parking is $10 per car, bring a chair and a blanket for the kiddos. The show starts at 6:30 p.m. Note the swimming area will be closed to the public that evening.

York County Community Action Corporation’s (YCCAC) Transportation program has announced that, beginning Monday, June 27, its Orange Line bus service, which operates between Sanford and Wells, will increase services to run on an hourly schedule for most of the day, beginning at 6:00 a.m. Weekend services will run every two hours. The Orange Line route will also be extended to Wells Beach for the summer. The route currently ends at Wells Plaza at Hannaford. In addition to these changes, the schedule has been updated to provide more consistent times for each of the Orange Line bus stops, which will be easier for riders to follow. (The Orange Line bus also stops at Walmart.)

Nasson Community Center and Little Theatre is hosting two 2-week theater camps this summer that are going to be full of fun activities and opportunities to learn from an amazing director. The camps are open to kids age 8-18. The July 11th – July 22nd camp will be afternoons, the August 1st – August 12th camp will be mornings. The Sanford-Springvale Chamber of Commerce is moving from their current downtown location to 510 Main St. in Springvale. They will be next door to Subway and across the street from the Sanford-Springvale Historical Society. Moving starts this week, so if you stop by the Sanford office and don’t find them, they may be unpacking boxes at the new location.

There was a line of parents waiting to get their young children vaccinated for Covid-19 when the York County Vaccination Clinic opened on Tuesday, the first day the vaccine was available for kids under age five. Read the story on WGME’s website here. The Clinic, located in the Center for Shopping in South Sanford, is open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:00-6:00 p.m. and Saturdays 10:30 to 3:00. No appointment necessary. Vaccines for the little ones are also available through Southern Maine Health Care by appointment.

Summer Hours: Smitty’s GameLAB is opening at noon for the summer. Maker’s Way Studio also has summer hours. Starting next week, they will be open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:00-8:30 p.m., and Wednesday, Friday and Saturday 10:00-5:00.
