The Sanford High School Wrestling Team took 6th place out of 27 scoring teams at the Noble Invitational on December 28. Kyle Nickerson placed 2nd, Luke Callis 3rd, James Blood 1st, and Mason VanGeison 4th in individual weight classes. Unfortunately, the Varsity Wrestling Invitation Tournament scheduled for January 8 in Sanford has been cancelled.
The 7/8 Grade Girls Sanford Parks and Rec Spartans Travel Team battled hard in the Holiday Hoops tournament last week, and won a victory over Scarborough but had a narrow loss to Windham. The 5/6 Grade Girls had a 13 point win vs Windham as they played hard to get to the semifinals, where they were bested by Biddeford.

Sanford Rec is planning two Saturday trips to see the Boston Red Sox play at Fenway Park this summer: a night game against the Toronto Blue Jays on July 23, and a late afternoon/evening game on August 27 with the Texas Rangers. The cost per person for transportation and ticket is $100. All the info is on their website here.
