Our Holiday Shopping Guide continues with suggestions for fashion and fun. No need to worry about supply-chain problems – it’s all at our local retailers, right now, with great service and at great prices!
Have you been in Craft Gallery lately? It was our first trip there and wow, what a hidden gem! The store is chock full of cozy décor and gift items for the homebody on your list. Among the wonderful gifts they have in stock are scented candles by McCall’s and 1803 for just $21.99 each, snowmen of every description, beautiful lighted lantern snow globes, gnomes, and much more!
Surprise your special someone with a gift to brighten their space – Craft Gallery has a wide selection of linens, including placemats, runners, kitchen towels, curtains and potholders. Anyone who loves primitive style will appreciate their braided rugs, available in sizes from coaster to 5′ x 8′, in great country colors. They have lamps, lampshades, and even furniture!
If you’re still putting the ho-ho-ho in your home, Craft Gallery has wonderful decorations to put the finishing touches on the tree, including ornaments, tree toppers and strands of white lights. The store is located at 1725 Main St., in the Airport Plaza.
Carte Blanche Boutique at 1364 Main St. (in the Center for Shopping), is one of southern Maine’s best clothing stores for women and kids – and it’s right here in Sanford! They have ladies’ sizes from XS to 3X, and kids clothes from baby to teen. They’ve just gotten in some chunky knit ribbed sweaters by Forever 21 – the perfect choice to pair with a flannel shirt for a cozy weekend look.
Accessories are their bag too – including jewelry, shoes and purses. For the eco-conscious person on your list, they have a line of upcycled canvas bags by Mona B, with vegan leather trim and linings made from recycled plastic bottles. Prices range from $29.99 to $65.99. They also have soft blanket-fringed plaid scarves by Riah for $15.00 each.
Carte Blanche has a wonderful line of home goods and gifts too, with many handcrafted items made by local artisans, including wooden décor by Dad & I Creations and ornaments by BC Designs. Kitchen linens, kitchenware and wine bags are just a few of the other great presents you can check off your list.
Jewelers’ Outlet, 879 Main St., is the perfect place to find that special sparkle for that certain someone! We were wowed by the wonderful selection and elegant ambiance. They have a wide variety of sterling silver, 18K gold and platinum jewelry with diamonds and other precious stones. They also have Maine tourmaline bracelets, necklaces, earrings and rings.
Among the other lovely things we found there were beating heart necklaces that shimmer with the slightest motion, and hundreds of Rembrandt charms. Jewelers’ Outlet is the only Pandora dealer in York County – they carry a full selection. Nicole Barr designs are enameled sterling silver from England and include the dragonfly pictured here.
For him, a Citizen Eco-Drive watch makes a perfect gift. It’s powered by light, so there’s no battery to change, and comes with a 5-year warranty.
Pip’s Second Hand Shop has just moved to their new location at 424 Alfred Rd. (Route 4). Despite the name, they have lots of great new-in-box gifts, including toys for big and little kids! The Wings of Texaco diecast metal planes by Ertl are coin banks with landing gear and turning propellers.
Mom will love the big selection of Department 56. Other collectibles include David Winter Cottages, dolls, beer steins, swords and much more.
Pip’s is a great place to find unique vintage and antique items, too. You have to check out the cool pedal cars from yesteryear.
They have a big selection of Christmas items at 20% off. Stop by their new store starting Saturday, December 10 and say hi!
Next week, look for our feature on last-minute gifts, stocking stuffers, gift cards and more. Merry Christmas!
