Eight members/volunteers of Southern Maine Sno-Goers got a lot of work done on New Dam Crossing / Apache Trail on November 7, filling in a very muddy/stumpy/root filled area with some donated stump grinding. Donald Chappell donated the use his tractor and provided heavy equipment operation expertise. Joseph Godin and Godin Associates donated the use of their dump body Polaris Ranger. The Club is also appreciative of Joe and his son Corey who drove almost 3 hours one way from Massachusetts to donate their labor that morning, as well as Donald Allaire, Jim Roux and Paul Haven. Much work remains to be done and the Sno-Goers would love to have more help on these projects. If you are not a member, please consider joining and donating your time to make the trails better for all riders.
Sanford Springvale Basketball Association is now Sanford/Springvale Recreational Sports at Nasson, because they are about more than just basketball! This month they will kick off a new round of coed volleyball clinics for grades 5-8, on Tuesdays from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m., beginning November 30. Coach Kevin Hill is the son of a volleyball coach and has been playing competitive volleyball for the past 9 years. He created and currently plays and instructs the men’s volleyball club team at the University of Southern Maine. While it’s his job to get experienced players prepared to compete at the collegiate national level, he also has the honor of teaching so many newcomers how to play such an amazing sport. He loves what he does and it’s his personal mission to continue growing the sport of volleyball in the state of Maine. The cost for the clinics is $50.
