So many wonderful things to tell you about, but first, we want to wish everyone a healthy and happy Thanksgiving! We have so much to be thankful for here at the library, most notably being able to offer you so many amazing programs and activities. We are putting all the crafts of the past year in the Goodall cabinet. Dawn and Lesley had so much fun putting together the adult crafts for you. Now that it is getting colder and darker you are going to need more books! We are keeping the staff picks wall stocked for you, and if you don’t like the book you can blame the staff! We have added some fun stuff to the Library of Things. You’ll have to wait for the snow to start flying before you can use the snowshoes that LL Bean donated for your use. If you check them out be sure to send us a picture of your adventure, we love to experience your fun vicariously!
The Library will be closed on Wednesday and Thursday, November 24th and 25th for the Thanksgiving holiday.
Annual Appeal mailers will be in your mailboxes this month. We are so grateful for your generosity year after year.
We are now accepting donations of gently used jewelry once again for our annual book sale. We are starting from scratch-we sold all of the jewelry during the last sale!
Have you noticed the changes happening outside? We are in the process of building a Carriage House. It will be used for storing outdoor materials as well as book sale setup items.
“ Be thankful for what you have. Your life is someone else’s fairy tale.” -Wale Ayeni
“We would worry less if we praised more. Thanksgiving is the enemy of discontent and dissatisfaction.” -H.A. Ironside

Fresh out of training, Dr. Chuck Radis convinces his wife, Sandi, to move to Peaks Island to fulfill a Public Health scholarship obligation. Absent-minded and initially oblivious to island mores, Dr. Radis slowly adapts to a medical practice where x-rays and advanced laboratory testing are available only on the mainland.
