The Sanford Backpack Program’s Boxes of Joy campaign is well underway, but it’s not too late to get involved. Each box includes 30 items – one for each day of November – and includes special holiday goodies as well as pantry staples and personal care items. The Boxes will be distributed to local families in December.
You can put together a box yourself, or collaborate with friends, family or coworkers. If you’re not up to putting together an entire box, they also welcome donations of individual items on the list. No time to shop? They welcome cash donations as well, and will do the shopping for you. Every little bit helps to make a happy holiday for a family that might be struggling this year! If you can help out with a donation of one item or an entire box, email sbp@strongersanford.org or call/text Jen at (207) 608-9601. They will drop off a special gift-wrapped carton to use, and pick it up when it’s filled!
