New cases of Covid-19 continue to decline in Sanford and Springvale. The latest weekly update, with data as of February 7, shows 43 new cases of the virus in Sanford and 8 in Springvale, for a total of 51 new cases in our community. The five members of the Sanford School Committee have directed Superintendent of Schools Matt Nelson to figure out how to have students in schools more days per week. The numbers of new cases have now dropped two weeks in a row, after the post-holiday surge. Broken down by zip code, this represents 803 cases in Sanford and 199 in Springvale.
