Tragic Loss Draws Outpouring of Support from Sanford Community

By Zendelle Bouchard Sanford and Springvale residents are coming together to support a family facing unimaginable loss following the apparent drowning of teenage stepbrothers Tavayne Weir and D’Andre Graham. The boys’ bodies were recovered from the Mousam River at Holdsworth Park (Springvale Rec) by first responders in the early hours of July 8. April Storm

Photo courtesy of York County government Local hotels open for the season were full last week, so some storm cleanup crews bunked at the York County Courthouse in Alfred. In this photo, Ben Belanger and Brittany Parr, of Central Maine Power parent company Avangrid, and Jim Nassif of the York County Facilities Department, clear cots and bedding from the second floor of the courthouse. Other crews stayed in school gyms, a community center, and fire stations.

Compiled from press releases and media reports Police continue to probe why an SUV strayed off Old Falls Road on Wednesday, August 2, 2023, resulting in the deaths of a Vermont man and his grandson.
