Some SMS, Willard Classes Go Remote Due to Covid

Superintendent of Schools Matt Nelson announced Friday and Saturday that some classes at Sanford Middle School and Willard School will go on remote learning this week after exposure to individuals who have tested positive for Covid-19. Cases of Covid-19 in our community continue to increase at a rapid pace. With data as of January 3, there have now been a cumulative 596 cases of the virus in Sanford, and 137 in Springvale, for a total of 733. Let's get the bad news over with first. This past week, our community set another one-week record for new cases of Covid-19, with a total of 94 new cases. 80 of those were in Sanford and 14 were in Springvale.
