Land Bank Update

The Land Bank Authority has more Dangerous Building hearings scheduled in the month of October. 1 John St. and 21 Butler St., both in Springvale, and 38 Jackson St. in Sanford will be on the City Council’s agenda for its October 19 meeting. City Council 9/7 Meeting Summary

The Sanford City Council met on Tuesday, September 7 via Zoom. The meeting began nearly a half hour late as the Council was in executive session. All members were present. Council Debates Zoning Change for Nasson Dorms

At the City Council's meeting on September 7, a public hearing and first reading were held on the proposed rezoning of the former Nasson dormitories properties off Summer St. in Springvale from single family residential to urban. The Site Plan Review Committee and Planning Board both recommend approval of the zoning change. River St. Reconstruction Approved

Parking Issues Still to Be Worked Out At the City Council meeting on September 7, a public hearing was held on the 50% progress plans for the River St. section of the Mousam Promenade, a planned 10-foot wide bike/pedestrian path around Number One Pond. The River St. section is scheduled to be built next year, with the Riverside/William Oscar Emery section scheduled for 2023.
