On Monday, August 9, Sanford firefighters responded to a car fire on Wilson St. and found smoldering engine components. There were no injuries or other damage.
There were 47 calls for EMS services. Emergency personnel provided first aid for 12 individuals, basic life support for 23 and advanced life support for 13 (some patients had first aid plus life support). 35 were transported to the hospital. Six invalids required assistance during the week.
There were two public service calls, no details given.
One call was dispatched and cancelled en route; two others resulted in no incident found upon arrival. There were seven calls for smoke detector activation, which were either malfunctioning or unintentional.
