The Sanford Chamber of Commerce recently celebrated Vetted Maine, LLC on their one-year anniversary. Vetted Maine is a family-owned medical cannabis dispensary and patient office located at 1609 Main Street. The business is owned by Merideth Albert, a Nurse, and her mother, AnnMarie Fredericks, a Nurse Practitioner. Their team includes AnnMarie’s husband, Jack Fredericks, as well as Brooke Wilson, JT Freeman, Dennis Goncalves, Kevin Pequin, Michael Schmidt and Steve Austin. Chamber Ambassador Committee members are also pictured.
Paul’s Market, formerly known as Sleeper’s Market, will be reopening under new management on Monday, November 23.
Funds left over from the Downtown Legacy group will soon be put to use. Some lighting for the alley that connects the municipal parking lot to Main Street will be installed, and a couple of picnic tables for Central or Gateway parks will be purchased.
Social media rumors of a protest against the wearing of face masks, which was reportedly to be held this past Sunday at several Hannaford locations, including the Sanford store, were apparently greatly exaggerated. Officers from the Sanford Police Department were there just in case, but only observed one person without a mask entering the store. Store employees provided her with a face shield.
York County Shelter Programs needs help filling its Thanksgiving boxes for needy families. York County Community Action invites you to join them in donating CLYNK refunds to the Shelter for its Thanksgiving food boxes. All YCCAC CLYNK deposits will be delivered to the Shelter to help with Thanksgiving food purchases. If you would like to participate in this campaign, please send a mailing address to bradb@yccac.org and the number of CLYNK stickers you need. The stickers (YCCAC) will be mailed to you.
The Boardwalk Trail off Emery Street got some TLC last month, thanks to a team of volunteers that regraded the entrance, painted a gate, replaced broken decking and picked up trash. Volunteers included Al Pollard, Thom Gagne, Kevin McKeon, Steve Mallon, David Genest, Hazen Carpenter and Lee Burnett. See photo below.
