On Friday afternoon, Sanford Superintendent of Schools Matt Nelson announced that school administrators met with officials from Maine CDC last week to evaluate the COVID-19 outbreak status at Sanford High School / Sanford Regional Technical Center. The schools have now finished the required 14 day quarantine period, and Maine CDC is comfortable with students returning to in-person learning.
Because the upcoming schedule includes a teacher in-service day (Friday, October 9th) and holiday (Monday, October 12th) and due to the current circumstances in the Sanford community, SHS & SRTC will remain in full distance learning for the upcoming week, and reopen Tuesday, October 13th. School administration will continue to monitor the situation closely and adjust the plan accordingly if things change.
