Arrests & Summonses August 1-15, 2022

Monday, August 1: Old Orchard Beach police arrested OOB resident Joshua J. Ouellette on a warrant issued by the Sanford Police Department. He is charged with two counts of aggravated assault and two counts of assaulting a child who is less than six years old, stemming from incidents that were caught on security video by Caring Unlimited. He was reportedly spending time with the child’s mother, and the alleged assaults were first brought to light on July 25 when the child was being treated at Southern Maine Health Care’s Sanford campus for two broken wrists. According to the affidavit filed by SPD with the York County Superior Court, the child had additional injuries including bumps and bruises.

Wednesday, August 3: Officers responding to a domestic disturbance on Spruce St. took a 34-year-old Sanford resident into custody on a warrant.

Thursday, August 4: A motor vehicle complaint on Riverside Dr. resulted in a 43-year-old Sanford resident being summonsed for operating without a license. A 43-year-old Sanford resident was taken into custody for domestic violence assault following a disturbance on Main St.

Friday, August 5: A 25-year-old Sanford resident was summonsed for operating under the influence after Sanford Police and Fire Departments responded to a vehicle crash / fire on Old Mill Rd. The same person who was arrested in the 8/3 domestic disturbance was summonsed for theft and violating condition of release following a report of shoplifting on Main St.

Saturday, August 6: A disturbance on Gerard St. led to a 41-year-old Sanford resident being arrested on an outstanding warrant.

Monday, August 8: A 43-year-old Springvale resident was summonsed for criminal mischief after officers were called to a disturbance on Main St. in Springvale. A domestic disturbance on Main St. in Sanford resulted in a 59-year-old Sanford resident being taken into custody for domestic violence assault.

Wednesday, August 10: A motor vehicle stop on Payne St. resulted in a summons to a 26-year-old resident of Frederick, MD, for operating while license suspended or revoked/OUI. A 48-year-old Sanford resident was arrested on River St. for operating after suspension with a prior OUI.

Thursday, August 11: A 36-year-old Sanford resident was taken into custody by Sanford Police while they were assisting another agency. The charge was unlawful possession of Fentanyl. A 25-year-old resident of East Baldwin, and a 26-year-old resident of West Kennebunk were both summonsed for theft following a shoplifting report on Main St.

Friday, August 12: A summons was issued following a motor vehicle complaint at Jagger Mill Rd. and Ashmont St., no details given.

Sunday, August 14: A 17-year-old juvenile was summonsed for a shoplifting incident on Main St. Later that day, a 40-year-old Sanford resident was arrested following a shoplifting call on Main St., for theft, criminal trespass, and an outstanding warrant. A 35-year-old Sanford resident was arrested on two outstanding warrants on Brook St. A domestic disturbance on Blanchard Rd. resulted in a 20-year-old Biddeford resident being taken in on a warrant.

Monday, August 15: A 27-year-old Lebanon resident was taken into custody and charged with gross sexual assault following a call to Mill St. in Springvale.

Additionally, there were nearly 30 motor vehicle summonses issued during the period.
