Friends of Downtown Sanford are currently on Phase II of the Heart & Soul initiative. They will be busy during the summer and fall collecting stories from as many community members and businesses as possible. They will ask a series of questions that will include: what brought you to Sanford; why you stay; what you love and want to preserve; and what you’d like to see in the future.
On Monday, Chloe Tebow from NewsCenter6 aired a positive story on the City of Sanford, Sanford’s Friends of Downtown Sanford, and the Community Heart & Soul initiative. You can click the following link to see the news story in full. https://youtu.be/hFVKMiFXXY0
These stories will be collected and turned into statements based on commonality among community members from the most repetitive statements down to the least. They will then be released to the community for a last revision then submitted to the city for adoption into the Comprehensive Plan.
If you see Friends of Downtown Sanford story-gathering, please stop and let us know your story. A perfect opportunity to let the city leadership know what is important in moving our city forward, while honoring our past heritage.
