Sanford Wrestlers Shine at Tournament
Sanford High School hosted its 49th annual Spartan Wrestling Tournament last weekend, continuing its tradition as one of New England’s premier wrestling competitions.
The two-day event, which serves as the Red & White Foundation’s largest annual fundraiser supporting Sanford athletics, showcased impressive performances from the home team.
Six Sanford wrestlers earned places: Canton Hill claimed second place in the 215-pound division, while Alden Treadwell secured third place in the 285-pound class. James Chaplick (144 lbs) took fourth, followed by Connor Pickering (150 lbs) and Ricky Callis (165 lbs) both earning fifth-place finishes. Richie Simpson rounded out the placings with sixth place in the 190-pound division.
Alden Treadwell was awarded the Ken Hover Memorial Outstanding Wrestler honor, selected by the head table for his exceptional performance throughout the tournament.
