On Sunday, December 12, Sanford Police took a 31-year-old Sanford resident into custody on an outstanding warrant, following a motor vehicle stop at Tebbetts Ave. and Johnson St. A motor vehicle stop at River and High Sts. resulted in an 18-year-old Sanford resident being summonsed, no charge listed, and a stop on Main St. led to a summons for a 22-year-old North Berwick resident for operating without a license. That evening, a 49-year-old Sanford resident was arrested for criminal mischief, following a domestic disturbance on Main St. On Riverside Ave., a 33-year-old Sanford resident was arrested on multiple charges, including unauthorized dissemination of certain private images, theft by extortion, harassment by telephone, criminal attempt and a warrant. The assistance of Sanford Fire and EMS was also required on that call.
Monday, December 13, officers responded to multiple reports of vandalism, on Main St., Roberts St. and Rankin St., as well as a separate report of graffiti on Edmund St. Disturbances on Main St. and Pioneer Ave., and multiple animal complaints were among the other calls that day.
Tuesday, December 14, was a very busy day for the Department. A domestic disturbance on Jagger Mill Rd. resulted in a 56-year-old Sanford resident being arrested on charges of domestic violence assault with a prior, domestic violence criminal threatening and violating condition of release. A 41-year-old Sanford resident was summonsed for theft by unauthorized taking or transfer on Main St. A 19-year-old Springvale resident was summonsed for operating a defective motor vehicle following a stop on Emile Levasseur Dr. Among the other calls that day were a domestic disturbance on Brook St., disturbances on Haig St., Dale St. and Grammar St., a sex offense and a drug incident.
On Wednesday, December 15, a 37-year-old Portland resident was arrested on a charge of domestic violence assault with priors, following a report of terrorizing/threatening on Twombley Rd. A 27-year-old Sanford resident was summonsed following a report of shoplifting on Main St. Officers also responded to burglaries of motor vehicles on High St. and Washington St., a domestic disturbance on Railroad Ave., and other calls.
Thursday, December 16, there were no arrests or summonses. Sanford Police investigated a report of abuse/neglect on High St. Other calls that day included a report of vandalism on Pioneer Ave. and violation of a protective order on Bougie Ln. 21 motor vehicle stops that day resulted in warnings issued.
On the morning of Friday, December 17, officers responded to a report of an assault in progress at Main and Schuler Sts. No arrests were made. Later that day, a 26-year-old Sanford resident was taken into custody on a warrant, following a motor vehicle stop at Farview Dr. and Curtis Lake Dr. Among other calls that day, a 17-year-old juvenile was summonsed for assault, and a domestic disturbance on Stoneybrook Rd. was investigated.
Saturday, December 19, Sanford Police responded to four domestic disturbances, at Fieldstone Ln., Brook St., and Riverside Ave. in Sanford, and at Bridge St. in Springvale. Among other calls that day were two animal complaints on Shaw’s Ridge Rd. and a report of vandalism on June St.
