Record-setting pilot plans brief stop in Sanford
A solo pilot from Tennessee plans to visit Sanford Seacoast Regional Airport sometime July 23rd or 24th, en route to setting what he hopes will be a new world record.
Daniel Moore from Johnson City, TN is attempting to visit at least 25-30 states in 24 hours, according to his website. The current record is nine states for a fixed wing solo aircraft. Moore plans to start in Durant, OK and end the following morning in Oshkosh, WI, covering nearly 3,000 miles. In 2019, Moore visited 92 airports in 24 hours, a record number of stops.
A full route map can be found on the website www.worldrecord.aero.
