The Mainers won back-to-back games on Friday, July 7th, and Saturday, July 8th. On Friday, the Mainers beat the Newport Gulls, 5-3, behind a bases-clearing triple from Matthew Polk in the fifth inning. Seamus Barrett earned the win on the mound for Sanford, striking out 10 while allowing two runs on six hits over seven innings.
The bats came alive on Saturday as the Mainers exploded for three runs in the first inning en route to an 11-6 win over the Keen Swamp Bats.
Cody Bowker, Nick Thompson, and Jake Poindexter combined to shut out the Upper Valley Nighthawks 2-0 as the Sanford Mainers won at Goodall Park on Wednesday, July 12th.
Bower started the game, allowing five hits and two walks while striking out four in four innings. Thompson took over in the fifth and allowed just two hits over three innings, and Poindexter earned the save, pitching the final two innings and striking out two. Devan Bade had three hits, including a double to pace the Mainer offense.
As of July 13th, the Mainers were in third place in the North Division of the NECBL with a 14-14 record.
