Veterans Memorial Committee-Memorial Day Parade

VETERANS’ MEMORIAL COMMITTEE – Memorial Day Events Line-up
*0645 Assemble at St. Ignatius Cemetery for the 1st Ceremony @ 7 am where we will proceed to Soldier/Sailor Park and all other Cemeteries.
Announcements will be made as to which location will follow.
0930 Ladies Auxiliary Water Wreath Ceremony @ #1 Pond
**0930 Begin assembling for Parade starting in Springvale (Gazebo)
1000 Parade from Springvale toward Central Park
1100 Ceremony at Central Park
1200 Luncheon at VFW #9935 (immediately following the Central Park Ceremony)
*We are NOT assembling at Dunkin Donuts this year, as the route is reversed and the first ceremony is NOT at Central Park. Central Park is the last ceremony.
** Realizing the time conflict, the Auxiliary Ceremony is brief, please attend if you can. Others may begin forming up in Springvale for the parade.
The Committee is meeting Wednesday, May 24th @ 7pm in the VFW Hall and will clarify any discrepancies/details. If you have questions POC Gerald Newport 207-324-2427.
MEMORIAL DAY helpful information.
0645 St. Ignatius Cemetery, Berwick Rd., at the flagpole. Take the second road into the cemetery.
Oakdale Cemetery, Twombley Rd. Turn left at the building, go along the river, cross the second bridge to the flagpole.
Soldiers and Sailors Park. The World War I Memorial is a granite boulder with a bronze plaque and flagpole.
Riverside Cemetery, Springvale. Upon entering, stay to the right, the flagpole is across from the maintenance building.
Notre Dame Cemetery, Springvale. Next door to Riverside. Take the first right, go all the way in. The flagpole is across from the circle.
0930 Number One Pond. Halfway between the rotary and the Armory is the concrete launch pad. A wreath will be set afloat in memory.
Springvale Memorial at the Gazebo in front of Walgreens.

1000 Parade to
Memorial in Central Park, at Main and Washington Sts. 1100 ceremony.
Luncheon immediately following at the VFW #9935 on School Street.
