The Sanford School Department announced that an individual associated with Sanford Middle School tested positive for COVID-19 on Saturday, November 14. There is a possibility that staff or students came in contact with this individual and were exposed to the virus.
Out of an abundance of caution, all Sanford Middle School students will have a full remote day on Monday, November 16, while contact tracing is completed. A Maine CDC or school representative will contact anyone identified as a close contact of the individual who tested positive. In-person learning is expected to resume at Sanford Middle School on Tuesday, November 17.
All close contacts will be asked to quarantine for 14 days from last exposure to the positive individual. A negative test does not release you from quarantine.
