Sanford Community Adult Education Open House, 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Willard School. Take a tour of the new space including the pottery studio. Light refreshments will be served.

Tuesday, September 27

Free Lunch Distribution, noon – 1:00 p.m. every Tuesday, parking lot of Roger’s Supa Dolla, 81 Cottage St.

Bingo, Sanford Elks Lodge, doors open at 4:00 p.m. and games start at 6:00 every Tuesday. Must be 18 to play.

City Council Housing and Homelessness Workshop, 6:00 p.m., City Hall Council Chambers, 919 Main St., and via Zoom (see agenda for link). The goal of the workshop is to offer a high-end view of the collaborations between participating agencies in finding solutions to housing for all; and the initiatives currently taking place to address the housing crisis in our community through a continuum of housing. Representatives from the Sanford Housing Authority, York County Community Action, York County Shelter Programs and the Sanford Police Department’s Mental Health Unit will participate.

Wednesday, September 28

Keeping the Keys Workshop, 1:00 p.m., Trafton Center, 19 Elm St. This hourlong presentation from AAA and York County Sheriff Bill King will give tips for safe driving as you age. Free and open to the public. Call the Trafton Center at 207-457-0080 for more info.

Southern Maine Artists & Crafters Festival, 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., outdoors at Sanford High School, 100 Alumni Blvd. This is a showcase for quality handmade items which will help you get an early start on your Christmas shopping. Singer/songwriter Ashlyn Bard will be performing as well.

Community Baby Shower, 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., Mercy Chapel, 1861 Main St. Expectant and new Moms who live in York County are invited to this event hosted by BeLoved and the Compassion Closet. All who register will receive a “Welcome Baby” swag bag. Free baby items will be available including clothing, gently used furniture and other items. There will be a raffle for new baby items and donated gifts. Connect with local organizations and agencies supporting families. Siblings welcome! Free lunch will be provided, games and prizes for the kids, and of course, cake! Register at belovedchildren.org.

Pete Caramihalis Fundraiser, Springvale Social Club, 22 Bridge St. This event is open to the public and will include a meat raffle at 1:00 p.m., 50/50 bucket raffles, catered food at 2:30 p.m., live music from Northern Charm at 5:00 p.m. and more. Proceeds help Pete Caramihalis in his fight against pancreatic cancer.
